Left river bank beauties

The Left riverbank is crowned by Prague Castle but this crown is matched by jewels scattered around if you just lower your eyes. To reach it you need to cross the first one: Charles’ Bridge, only to get to the next: Kampa or Prague Venice, followed by a gem stone: Malá strana or Lesser Quarter. This walk will make you happy to be alive and appreciate what beautiful things can be found in the world.

PH17_KarluvMostKarlův most (Charles’ Bridge)

Established in 1356 it was the only way to get from Old Town to the Lesser Quarter for centuries. Later, having been decorated by statues demonstrating omnipresent Baroque spirituality, it eventually also became a unique open air gallery and a stone book which you can read for hours.

KampaThe Devil's Stream

Kampa, also called Prague Venice, will charm you with its parks, stream, palaces and houses as well as alternate views of the Right riverbank and beyond.

Some streets that are just off the main tourist routes but most people visiting the city never get to experience the wonders and charms they hold. Don’t you want to wonder at what others are missing? Wouldn’t you enjoy walking down one of the steepest streets in the city while others climb up it all short of breath?

Kostel svatého Mikuláše (St Nicholas church in the Lesser Quarter)

PH20-svMikulasExperts call it a Baroque pearl of Prague, but your own real life experience of this gem will surpass all labels and descriptions. The place will grab your senses and touch your heart. You will be in awe at how from inanimate matter the architects managed to create a building that seems to be living.

Duration of the tour is approximately 2,5 hours

  1. Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids.
I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put
the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.

She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally
off topic but I had to tell someone!

    • Hi, it is actually an interesting little story! Thanks for sharing!
